Help is Coming!

Late last week, Tiffany posted on our LHP FB page that she will be heading to Lansing, NC on Oct. 10th. She knows folks there as well as in the surrounding area. She's been in touch with them and, as you can imagine, the situation is dire. The destruction and conditions are beyond anything we've seen on television and social media. Truly unimaginable.

You might be thinking, well that's nice and lots of people are doing that. True. But here's the difference. Tiffany is a Coast Guard veteran who is specially trained and experienced in search and rescue as well as disaster recovery logistics. She will bring a sorely needed skill set to a decimated area.

We felt that if there's any way we can support her efforts, it would allow us to contribute to the disaster recovery in a meaningful way while ensuring that donations or supplies reach the people in need directly, without question.

​When we first brought up the idea of collecting donations, Tiffany quickly pointed out that when she asked the locals if they needed money, their response was, "There's no place to spend money." Instead, they emphasized the urgent need for basic supplies (see the list below). With this in mind, we suggested using any donated funds to cover Tiffany’s expenses and to purchase any supplies that aren’t donated directly.
