Laurel Hill Plantation Overview
Laurel Hill Plantation, established in 1988, was one of the first neighborhoods developed on the west side of the Goose Creek Reservoir off Foster Creek Rd. The majority of development occurred between 1988 and the early 1990s. The vision for Laurel Hill Plantation was to create a quiet, family-friendly community, free from the traffic congestion and encroachments that affect many other neighborhoods. The developer successfully struck a balance, offering a relaxed, almost country feel while providing the conveniences of being just minutes from major shopping centers, excellent medical facilities, restaurants, entertainment, schools, and churches. Although it is surrounded by the cities of Goose Creek and Hanahan, Laurel Hill remains unincorporated within Berkeley County. Today, of the 136 parcels in Laurel Hill Plantation, new home construction continues on some of the few remaining lots.
Community and Amenities
Laurel Hill Plantation features several common areas and has its own private landing, allowing residents boat access to the Goose Creek Reservoir, which is known for great fishing. In 1989, the Laurel Hill Plantation Homeowner’s Association, Inc. (HOA) was formed to manage these common areas. The HOA, a non-profit South Carolina corporation, is composed of property owners and is dedicated to protecting the value, integrity, and livability of the community. No management company is utilized; instead, the residents manage the community themselves, keeping the process simple, friendly, and efficient.
